I wanted to be a role model for the orphanage I came from and wanted to inspire others. I want to show that anything in life is possible.
Tshegofatso grew up in an orphanage in South Africa and had studied for the GED for 2 and a half years before graduating with his diploma.
"I wanted to be a role model for the orphanage I came from and wanted to inspire others. I want to show that anything in life is possible when you have determination and wisdom. Taking the GED has changed my life entirely and has taught me how to be self-disciplined enough to achieve my goals."
Through different study tools and tutors Tshegofatso was able to get his GED. He also woke up at 3:00 A.M. to study because he was so determined to pass.
"What helped me succeed was learning how to build confidence and be determined about things I didn't know, and find a way to develop my mind. If you put in the effort, you'll get the best result. Nothing in life is impossible, you just need to pay attention and keep your eyes on the prize."
Now that Tshegofatso has his GED certificate he hopes to attend an international university and follow his dreams of becoming a teacher in a foreign country while also obtaining his master's degree.
"I'm looking forward to changing my life and be the person I've always wanted to be. No one in this life can take away your education, and no one can decide what you can accomplish in life."
