Grads and Transcripts
Transcript FAQs
I passed the GED. When will I receive a copy of my diploma and transcript?
Congratulations on passing! Some states will send an email right after you pass with a copy of your e-diploma and e-transcript, while other states will mail a paper copy of your transcript and diploma. Check your state's policy page to see what they provide. These are your official diploma and transcript -- if you receive them via email, you should download and save these documents for your records. You will need Adobe software (version 6.0 or higher) in order to download the documents.
I need additional copies of my transcript to send to the colleges that I'm applying to. How do I get extra copies?
To order additional copies of your transcript, click on 'GED Grads' button above and follow the instructions for requesting your transcript. Based on where you earned your high school equivalency, you will be directed to the appropriate page.
What is the difference between the diploma and the transcript? What is each used for?
Your diploma is the certificate issued by your state upon completion of the GED indicating that you have earned your high school equivalency. Your transcript is the official record of the GED test subjects that you took and your scores. Many colleges and universities require an applicant to submit a copy of their transcript prior to acceptance and admission.
I placed an order for my transcript, but I haven't received it. What should I do?
Most physical diploma/certificate or transcript orders take approximately 1-2 days to process and mail out but may take up to 2 weeks. Please allow sufficient time for processing and shipping. Prior to placing an order, you should confirm that you have the correct recipient / administrator and school address if you are sending the transcript directly to a school.
